I've always drawn, painted and made things. I can’t imagine my life without being able to create. That being said, there are many times when I haven’t been working and at those times there is always a gnawing sense of dissatisfaction. I like shapes and getting lost in their uniqueness, and how they can separate out from the objects that create them and that they are a part of and then how they become their own discrete object. The creation of a shape, (line or color) being born from my observations pulls me to keep painting and drawing. When I become lost in the visual world, that is so difficult to put into words, I’ve entered a different way of thinking about the world that I find truly satisfying.
